Series are a big commitment for any reader. Seriously, when you start a novel that you know has a few follow-up novels, there’s pressure! Do you want to commit to these characters for 2-5 more novels? (Don’t even get me started on the commitment that isΒ the Outlander series.) However, I love finding a great series that really pulls me in like Harry Potter, Divergent, or The Hunger Games. So, for today’s Top Ten Tuesday, here are a few series that I’ve heard great things about and would love to consider committing to. (Click on the picture to view the books in Goodreads and get a plot summary!)
I noticed the first book of this series on my cousin’s floor a few days ago, and when I realized that she had the book I’ve been hearing about, I decided I should try out this series.

Panic, which was an amazing book and one that I still think about from time to time. I would love to find the time to read her series.
I love love love this series (after much debating and reluctance, I did finally come to love it). I also spent too much money buying the entire series on my Nook. Now I need to read it.
A dating reality show that is set in a dystopian world… I mean, how could you pass that up?
I listened to the first novel on audiobook years ago when I was commuting to work. I don’t remember much about it, but I do remember liking it, and I really want to get back into the series.
I’ve had at least 12 people recommend this series to me, so how could I not include it on this list? Plus, those covers. How cool are those covers?
A man who can write characters into existence… I love a novel that crosses fantasy book world with real life.
I’m almost embarrassed that I haven’t even attempted this series yet, but it’s a pretty large commitment. However, with the new TV show coming out based on the series, I’ve added it to my TBR.
What do you think? Any series that I missed? Which series should I start with?
As always, Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by The Broke and Bookish.
I've been meaning to commit to George RR Martin myself, there was a hilarious South Park parody a few weeks ago. Did you see it?
I have not read any of these. It is funny how the trilogy took off! My fave is still the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I enjoyed Hunger Games and Divergent, too.
The Grisha series <3 <3 <3 I am sure you are going to see a lot of love for that one today!

Ooo, I haven't read any of these series yet! If I had to pick one, it would definitely be Game of Thrones. I'm a fan of the TV show but haven't read any of the books! Also, can I just say (as an avid reader) how glad I am to have found your blog?
The Delirium series is on my list as well! City of Bones and the Selection are great books!

I loved the Selection series and the Discovery of Witches books. You should definitely start with those ones!
It's been so long now, but I remember LOVING the Gemma Doyle series! I've been thinking of re-reading it π Enjoy!
I knew I was forgetting a major series that I've been hearing about and you listed it. I can't believe I forgot the All Sould trilogy. This is both a great and helpful list!
I really enjoyed the All Souls Trilogy!
This post is dangerous! My favorite series is at book 9 or 10 now, I haven't even caught up with that one!
I read Inkheart a couple of years ago and really liked it. Awesome wee series.
I read the Selection series… and it was really good! I finished the whole series in three days. There are also some novellas that I bought for my kindle… and I haven't had time to read those yet (yay midterms) but definitely read it!

I met Lauren Oliver this past weekend, and I bought Delirium for her to sign. I'm so excited to start the series! I always want to finish the Gemma Doyle series. I've only read the first book. And The Selection! Ah! One of my favorite series!
I like series as long as they aren't too many books. Once the author gets to double digits in the series it is too much for me. I am definitely eager to look into these books, so thank you!

Gemma Doyle and The Selection series are both AWESOME!
Fantastic list π We have GoT in common – it's just so long and daunting!
Grisha and Gemma Doyle are great series, I hope you enjoy them when you get round to them!

Hooray for GoT! I haven't read the most recent book for that series yet, which may be a plus, because who knows when the next one's gonna come out? x_x
I remember reading A Great & Terrible Beauty long long ago, but I don't remember what happened anymore! I should go look that up again, haha. π
Great picks. There are quite a few of these series that I really want to read myself – the Grisha and Delirium series especially, they look so good. I hope you can get to some of these soon π TTT.
Such a great list. I'm amazed at how many amazing series there are right now. I just wish I had more time to read.
Series are a big commitment and for a while, I felt like that was all I was reading. It can be exhausting. I needed some suggestions for a book challenge I'm about to start, though. I'll be looking into some of these! #blogtribe
