One of the main reasons that I read is to experience events and ideas that I wouldn’t otherwise experience. This week’s Top Ten Tuesday hosted by The Broke and The Bookish spoke to my heart — 10 Places Books Have Made Me Want to Visit. I immediately thought of at least five different places that I would love to be transported to because I read about them in a book (whether they were real places on a globe, or places inside an author’s head).
What do y’all think? Did I miss any locations or books? Where would you want to visit?
I think I'd stay out of Divergent Chicago… unless I could get some mixed martial arts training first!
I love that you added a post-apocalyptic world to your list! I thought I was the only crazy one… Hogwarts made my list too! I think just about everyone picked it 😉 Thanks for sharing!
Here's my Top Ten!
I just couldn't help adding it! I love the idea of the five societies divided by people's traits. Maybe I should have said pre-Tris bringing down the world future Chicago?
I love the world that Veronica Roth created in Divergent! And Hogwarts, always. Of course it's the first place I thought about!
Hogwarts would be my top pick! I went to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter a couple months ago and it was so cool. I'd love to go see the locations where the movies were shot, too.
Such a cool post idea!
Hogwarts! Definitely Hogwarts!
This is an awesome idea for a post! I may have to steal it haha. But duh, Hogwarts is my number one! I went to the studios in London, but I would love to go to Orlando. Of course that doesn't hold a candle to the real Hogwarts, but you gotta take what you can get. I don't know if I could handle future Chicago! So much drama haha. I definitely want to go to the Netherlands and the 1920's! What an awesome decade. And I'm obsessed with Rome! It's probably my favorite city in the world.
I would love to go to the 1920o's too. It seemed like such an exciting and new time. I might be a little shocked, it seems like it was wild time too 🙂
What a great list! I'm planning to go to Scotland next year. I may have to try hugging a stone or two to see if Jamie Frazer shows up in front of me. Or at least San Heughan. 😉
Girl, you should follow http://www.brokeandbookish.com. They do a Top Ten Tuesday meme that has some great post ideas and link ups!
PS. So freaking jealous about London. I've been to the Orlando one before Diagon Alley was added, but I'm dying to go back. I pretty much just want to travel all over Europe.
If he shows up, let me know! I wouldn't say no to a Jamie Frazer!
Haha! Some places that I listed (like Hogwarts) I would want to immerse myself in. The 1920s is more of an observational wish!
🙂
Thanks! I follow The Broke and Bookish, and they post a weekly roundup with themes. I had no trouble coming up with 10 places for this week's theme!
I'm dying to go back since Diagon Alley was added! So jealous!
Cute way to make a great list! 🙂

I would love to go to the 1920s… Midnight in Paris is totally one of my favorite movies for that reason. And in general life, dying to go to Morocco!
Midnight in Paris is EXACTLY what I was thinking of when I put 1920s in there! I've read a lot of novels set in the US 1920s, but Europe sounds so much more amazing.
Thank you!
Oh my goodness, I loved The Lovely Bones but it's so so sad. What a fantastic list – you've got me thinking now! Thanks for posting x
Thanks for stopping by!
Well, that is twist on places to visit. I think the only feasible options here are The Netherlands,Rome, Italy, the desert, boarding school, and Hogwarts. But anything else, you can only dream of it. But I am with you on going to Hogwarts. Thanks for sharing.
Haha! So maybe I dream a bit too much.. But I figured if this was a list of places I would love to visit if I could, well, I have a few fantasies to add to the list! 🙂
