Book Club Christmas Party 2014

It’s hard to believe that it has been two years since I gathered together some girls who loved to read and formed a book club! In the past year, we saw a few members leave, but we picked up some new people along the way.

Overall, it’s been a tough reading year for us, but there have been a few gems along the way. Favorites of ours this year would definitely be The Museum of Extraordinary Things by Alice Hoffman and Outlander by Diana Gabaldon, but we haven’t found novels that we loved like Gone Girl and The Orphan Master’s Son that we read in 2013.

As always, the Christmas party had an abundant amount of food and some wickedly delicious champagne punch. So. Yummy.

Then came the presents! This year, like last year, we did a dirty santa game. We wrapped up books, put clues on them, and picked and stole gifts. The clues were pretty creative!
Here’s a before and after! (I brought The Luminaries and Wild.)

It was a fun night with more gossiping and talking than book reviewing, but that’s ok. Most of us weren’t able to read the book this month, The Husband’s Secret by Liane Moriarty, but the ones who did get to read it said it was very good! (I still have it on my To-Read list.)

Here’s a list of books we have read this year!
